Beauty and the Beast

The instructions for analyzing the Zipes article should structure your reading and responding to this week's two articles. Remember to use the dictionary for unfamiliar or ambiguous words. The correct definitions both help you understand the article more fully and improve your writing vocabulary.

1) In your response to each article you should include:-

a) a summary of the argument the author intends to make in the article - the thesis, if you like
b) a breakdown of the main sections in the argument (in the order in which they appear)
c) a note of the evidence which the author uses to support each point
d) an analysis of the kind of evidence the author uses
e) a one or two paragraph summary of the article as a whole, which would indicate to another reader exactly what s/he would learn from each article

2) After their long struggle to be together, the Lady and the Lion start to have second thoughts about their new life as a couple. Compose the diary entry each would write looking back on the old life and comparing it with the new.
